Hello, my name is Elsa…

Hello, my name is Elsa and I’m a newbie! My legHello, my name is Elsa and I’m a newbie! My leg was amputated August 14 after a motorcycle hit me. My people couldn’t afford my care so I was taken in by some super nice folks at Westside German Shepherd Rescue in Los Angeles.

The people I live with now saw my picture and adopted me! I got on a plane and headed to Michigan where I live now with 3 humans and 3 dogs. It’s kind of annoying the way they adore me, the humans especially. I give them kisses anyways. was amputated August 14 after a motorcycle hit me. I am Elsa! I was adopted from Westside German Shepherd Rescue in California and now reside in Michigan. I love to play, chew on stuff and monkey nibble my people when they scratch me.

  1. WOW…. aren’t you a beauty!!! I live in Los Angeles so I’m surprised I didn’t hear your story but glad you found your way to Tripawds! We look forward to hearing more about your adventures!!!

    1. Happy to be here! Do you know of Westside GSD rescue? We actually drove to LA a year and a half ago to adopt our other GSD. The rescue is on Hill street. We visited a park nearby that was beautiful. It was near a college, can’t remember which one. We had to head back to MI the next day. We had our newest edition, Elsa, shipped to us this time. We couldn’t afford another big trip out West. It was so amazingly beautiful, though! Do you enjoy living in LA? Besides the traffic, of course, that is hideous!

  2. Elsa is beautiful! Thanks for joining and sharing her pics, we look forward to following her progress.

FYI: We fixed your blog post for you. (You had the entire text of your post in the title.) Check out the Help videos or post in the forums if you need help with your blog.

  3. Elsa looks like you hit the doggy lottery with your new “pack”. You are beautiful!! Wait until you see your first “snow”. Being a LA dog I doubt you’ve ever seen it. But I bet you’re gonna love it!

  6. Ditto what Jerry said about drooling. My pack consists of a trio of tripawd GSDs (our pawrents used to work with a N. California GSD rescue) and a 4-legged mutt. Elsa you are a beauty and boy did you hit the jackpot!

We look forward to following your adventures!

    1. Ah the dangers of rescue work:):) We dream of living in California and volunteering for one of the Sheppie rescues! Elsa is our second from Westside in LA. I’m hoping to train her for therapy work. She seems to be comfortable around all people and dogs. She gets stronger every day. We’ve had so much fun watching her play. She has such a unique way of hopping and twisting to maneuver around the other dogs. What an adventure!
